Most erection problems start before the steel arrives: anchor bolts out of position, no laydown area, a crane too small. This page covers what your site must have ready, what we bring, and how problems are fixed.

The most common delay, and how to avoid it
Anchor bolts are set by the foundation contractor, often weeks before the steel arrives. If they are out of tolerance, the first column will not fit.

AISC 303 values. GB 50205 and EN 1090-2 set their own limits; ACI 117 is wider than AISC, a known conflict noted by ASCC Position Statement 14.
Survey before shipping. Send us a survey of the anchor bolts before the last steel ships. We adjust base plates in the shop if needed.
Use templates. Our anchor bolt templates hold bolts in position during the pour.
If bolts are out. Options include enlarged or slotted holes with plate washers, or new post-installed anchors. Your engineer must approve each fix.

Report
Photo with the member mark and the problem.

Diagnose
Our engineer checks the drawing, the trace log and the packing list.

Decide
Site fix, shop remake, or part from spare stock.

Supply
Our error: at our cost. Air freight policy: to confirm.
Spares ship with the steel: a percentage of bolts and small fittings, to confirm, so most small losses are fixed on the day.

Which languages do your supervisors speak?
Mandarin and English; other languages through local interpreters.
Who is responsible for site safety?
The main contractor, unless we take the full erection scope.
Can our local crew erect without a supervisor?
Yes, for simple portal frames with an experienced crew. For box columns, trusses and composite frames we recommend a supervisor.
Do you provide erection engineering for heavy lifts?
Yes, lifting plans and temporary works for our members. Crane selection stays with the crane contractor.
