EN 1090 is the European standard for executing steel and aluminium structures. Part 1 covers conformity and CE marking of components; Part 2 sets technical requirements for steel.

Execution classes

Classالاستخدام النموذجيRequirements
EXC1Agricultural buildings, simple structuresBasic
EXC2Most buildingsStandard; most specifications
EXC3Stadiums, bridges, high-riseStricter welding, NDT, traceability
EXC4Critical structuresHighest

What changes with the class

  • Welding quality level (ISO 5817 C or B)
  • NDT extent
  • Traceability of materials
  • Welding coordinator qualification (ISO 14731)

What buyers should ask

  • Is the factory certified to EN 1090-1, and to which EXC?
  • Is the certificate from a notified body?
  • Can they show a sample declaration of performance?

Note on GGSteel status: GGSteel certification status for this standard to be confirmed. We fabricate to its requirements when your specification calls for it.
