Buying steel structures from China: questions answered

What do you need to quote?
Drawings for a fixed price, or a brief (size, use, location) for an estimate. See the RFQ checklist.
How fast do you quote?
First reply in 1 working day, RFI list in 2, BOM quote for complete drawings in about 3.
Why is there no price per ton on the website?
Because it depends on design, complexity, coating and freight. Read why.
Which currency and Incoterms?
USD, FOB a Chinese port or CIF your port.
Do you design the structure?
We can, or we work to your engineer’s design. See Engineering & Detailing.
¿Con qué códigos trabajas?
GB, AISC/AWS, Eurocode/EN 1090, AS/NZS, and local codes by agreement.
Can you stamp drawings for my country?
Usually a local engineer of record stamps; we provide calculations and drawings for review.
What records come with the steel?
Mill certificates, ITP, NDT and dimensional reports, coating records and packing lists. See Quality & Inspection.
Can I inspect during fabrication?
Yes, at any hold point, yourself or through SGS, BV, TÜV or another agency.
What is your capacity?
300,000 t per year across 8 bases.
How is steel shipped?
In 40HQ containers, flat racks or break-bulk, by member size. See Packing & Shipping.
How long does delivery take?
Fabrication typically 3–8 weeks after drawing approval, plus sea freight of 1–5 weeks by destination.
Do you deliver to landlocked countries?
Yes. Our Laos project went by sea and road.
What payment terms do you accept?
Commonly a deposit and balance against shipping documents, or L/C. Large projects by milestone.
Will you sign our NDA?
Yes, before you send drawings.
Who is responsible if a member is wrong?
If it does not match the approved shop drawing, we fix or replace it at our cost.
Do you erect overseas?
Yes. We erected in Laos and Myanmar and carried out site work in Indonesia. See Installation Support.
Can our local contractor erect?
Yes, with our erection manual and, if needed, our supervisors.
