Engineering, Protection & Delivery Services for Structural Steel
Three in-house services wrap around every tonne we fabricate: Tekla detailing before cutting, coating and fire protection before packing, and quality records plus port logistics before the vessel sails.
Fabrication is only half of a steel package
Most delays on imported steelwork do not start in the welding bay. They start with an unchecked connection, a coating system that does not match the site corrosivity, or a member that does not fit the container. We handle those three risks inside the same company that cuts and welds the steel.
Each service can be bought on its own, but most EPC contractors use all three. One project engineer owns the model, the paint specification and the shipping plan, so the piece mark on the Tekla drawing is the same one printed on the packing list and on the steel itself.
- Detailing team works in Tekla Structures, exports IFC, DWG, NC1 and KSS
- Coating to ISO 12944, galvanizing to ISO 1461, intumescent to 60–120 min
- Inspection and test plan (ITP) agreed before fabrication starts
- Shipping from Shenzhen and Guangzhou ports, 3–15 days to most Asia-Pacific markets
Three services, one project engineer
Each page lists standards, deliverables, typical durations and the records you receive with the steel.
Engineering → protection → delivery
The same six gates apply to a 50 t mezzanine package and an 18,000 t tower. Only the depth of each gate changes.
Design review
Drawings, loads and codes checked within 24 h. BOM and FOB price issued.
Tekla detailing
Model, connections, clash check. Shop drawings in 5–10 working days.
Fabrication
CNC cutting, SAW/ESW welding, 100% UT on CJP welds.
Protection
Sa2.5 blasting, coating or HDG, intumescent where specified.
QC dossier
MTC 3.1, NDT, dimensional and DFT records per piece mark.
Port & site
40HQ or break-bulk, erection supervision, PT Xianghe crews in SE Asia.
Connection design to AISC 360, EN 1993 or AS 4100. RFIs raised before steel is cut, not after it arrives on site.
Coating system chosen for the site corrosivity category and design life, with DFT recorded on every member.
Packing, loading plans and documents built from the same model data, so customs and site teams read one list.
What you receive at each stage
Every document is issued in English and referenced to the piece marks in the Tekla model.
| Stage | Documents and data | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Quotation stage | BOM with tonnage per member type, FOB price, lead time, assumption list | 24 h (2–3 days for complex) |
| Detailing | GA drawings, shop drawings, NC files, bolt list, clash report, RFI log | 5–10 working days |
| Fabrication | Weekly progress report with photos, tonnage completed per area | Weekly |
| Quality | MTC EN 10204 3.1, WPS/PQR, UT/MT reports, dimensional reports | Per lot, before loading |
| Protection | Blasting and DFT records, HDG certificate, intumescent thickness log | Per lot, before loading |
| Shipping | Packing list, loading plan, B/L, certificate of origin, erection mark plan | At loading |
| Site | Erection sequence, lifting plan, bolt tightening procedure, as-built survey support | Before arrival |
Document list is agreed in the ITP at contract stage. Additional client or consultant formats can be added.
Pick the scope that fits your team
Build-to-print
You issue approved shop drawings. We fabricate, protect, test and ship.
Best for
- EPC contractors with in-house detailers
- Repeat packages and phased projects
- Fastest start: cutting within days of approval
Detail & build
You issue design drawings. We detail in Tekla, you approve, we fabricate.
Best for
- Design-and-build contractors
- Projects with complex nodes or trusses
- Owners who want one point of responsibility
Supply & supervise
Full package plus erection supervision. Installation crews in SE Asia via PT Xianghe.
Best for
- Overseas sites without steel specialists
- Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines
- Long-span roofs and heavy lifts
Services proven on large, coordinated packages
For the CGN Headquarters in Shenzhen, 18,472 t of steel, including multi-cavity mega columns, passed through the same detailing, UT and coating gates described here. On the Shenshan grain reserve, a 50 m conveyor trestle and 47 m roof spans were trial-assembled and match-marked before dispatch.
Matching the service to your role
Buyers come to us at different stages. The scope is set by what you already have, not by a fixed package.
| Buyer | Usual starting point | Services used | What matters most |
|---|---|---|---|
| EPC / main contractor | IFC design model, tender BOQ | Detailing, coating, QC dossier, shipping | Program certainty, ITP sign-off, erection sequence |
| Steel subcontractor / erector | Approved shop drawings | Fabrication, coating, NDT, packing | Price per tonne, fit-up on site, piece-mark discipline |
| Consultant / engineer of record | Design drawings and specification | Connection design, RFI log, coating proposal | Code compliance, test records, design intent kept |
| Developer / owner | Architectural concept or tender set | Full chain plus erection supervision | Total cost, schedule, one accountable supplier |
| PEB / warehouse builder | Frame layout and loads | Detailing, HDG secondary steel, 40HQ loading | kg/m², container count, repeatable details |
Steel consumption for single-storey warehouses usually lands at 32–45 kg/m²; multi-storey and heavy industrial frames at 55–95 kg/m².
A contractor with an approved Tekla model usually needs fabrication, protection and logistics only. A developer holding an architectural set needs the whole chain, starting with a design review and a BOM so the steel budget is known before tender. Most buyers sit between the two.
Pricing follows the same logic. Detailing is priced per modelled tonne, coating per tonne based on paint area, and shipping per container or freight tonne. Indicative FOB China prices for fabricated structural steel run roughly USD 1,100–1,800/t depending on complexity; see the 2026 cost per ton guide.
Whichever scope you choose, three rules do not change: the ITP is agreed before cutting, every weld and coat has a record, and the piece mark on the drawing is the one on the steel.
- Quotes show assumptions and exclusions in writing
- Minimum order 50 t of steel or 2,000 m² of building
- Detailing and fabrication can start in parallel by area
Service questions
For grade equivalents and loading rules, see our steel grade chart and 40HQ loading guide.
Can I buy detailing only, without fabrication?
Yes. Detailing is offered as a standalone service, priced per tonne of modelled steel. Most clients then award fabrication to us because the model and NC files are ready to use.
Which coating standard do you follow?
Paint systems are specified to ISO 12944-5 for corrosivity categories C2 to CX, surface preparation to ISO 8501-1 Sa2.5, and galvanizing to ISO 1461. Equivalent AS/NZS 2312 or SSPC systems can be matched.
Do you accept third-party inspection?
Yes. SGS, BV, TUV, Intertek or your own inspector can witness hold points in the ITP. We provide office space, test equipment access and records.
How long does the full service chain take?
Typically 5–10 working days for detailing, 25–40 days for fabrication and coating after drawing approval, then 3–15 days of sea transit depending on destination.
Do you install steel overseas?
We send erection supervisors to any market. Full installation crews are available in Southeast Asia through PT Xianghe, our Indonesian subsidiary.
