01Who this is for

Steel bridges for contractors, developers and municipal clients

Steel bridges are short in tonnage but long in risk. Most link bridges go up in a single lift over a live street or between two finished towers, and there is no room for a hole that does not line up.

We fabricate the steel for skywalks between buildings, pedestrian footbridges over roads, atrium bridges, transit-station covers and road girders. Our scope runs from Tekla detailing through trial assembly, coating and shipping, with lifting lugs, jacking points and temporary bracing included.

  • Storey-deep truss bridges with floor deck and roof framing
  • Welded box girders with internal stiffeners and diaphragms
  • Lifting lugs and strand-jack anchor points designed in
  • Curved and sloped walkways, stairs and canopies

02Structural breakdown

Structural breakdown of a steel bridge or skywalk

Each member family links to its product page with section ranges and processing limits.

Storey-deep Warren and Pratt trusses in box or H-sections, trial-assembled to 90 m.

Welded girders for footbridges and road bridges, cambered to the design profile.

Heavy nodes at supports and lifting points, with machined bearing surfaces.

Box and tubular columns for intermediate supports and stair towers.

Truss floor deck for enclosed skywalk floors, no props during the lift.

Access stairs, balustrades, canopy framing and maintenance walkways.

03Steel consumption & cost

Steel bridge cost: three tiers

Bridges are priced per tonne; steel per metre of deck depends on span, width and enclosure.

TierTypical scopeSpan / heightSteel consumptionIndicative FOB ChinaLoading
Tier 1: open footbridgeBox girder or truss, 3–4 m wide deck20–35 m250–400 kg per mUSD 1,400–1,600/tContainer segments to 11.8 m
Tier 2: enclosed skywalkStorey-deep truss, floor deck, roof framing30–60 m400–600 kg per mUSD 1,500–1,750/tBreak-bulk segments
Tier 3: long-span link / girderLifted truss bridge or road girder60–90 mCalculated per drawingsUSD 1,550–1,800/tBreak-bulk, segments to 24 m

Indicative ranges for budgeting, based on recent South China project data. Final tonnage and price are confirmed per quotation from your drawings, loads and coating specification.

Example: a 40 m enclosed skywalk at about 500 kg per metre needs roughly 20 t of steel; with lifting steel and stairs, a typical package is 25–35 t. Small bridges can join a larger shipment to meet the 50 t minimum. See NDT and shipping.

Link bridges between towers are usually storey-deep trusses assembled at ground level, then raised in one piece by hydraulic strand jacks. That makes two things critical: the truss must be geometrically exact at the bearing points, and the lifting lugs and temporary members must be designed into the shop drawings.

We trial-assemble bridge trusses up to 90 m in the shop, survey camber and bearing positions, and fabricate lifting lugs and temporary bracing with the permanent steel. For girder bridges, we fabricate welded box sections with full-penetration flange welds tested by 100% UT.

Vibration and corrosion matter for footbridges. We follow the designer’s frequency targets and recommend C4 systems or galvanizing for exposed bridges; see coating options.

06Delivery method

Four steps that make a one-piece lift predictable

  1. 01

Tekla load model and shop drawings

Your design is modelled in Tekla Structures, connections are checked to AISC 360, EN 1993 or AS 4100, and you approve shop drawings before any plate is cut.

  2. 02

Shop trial assembly and hole check

Frames, trusses and splices are laid out in the yard, surveyed and match-marked so bolt holes line up on site.

  3. 03

    Piece-mark stamping

Every member carries a steel-stamped piece mark that matches the erection drawings and the packing list.

  4. 04

    Protected packing and loading

Members are bundled on steel saddles with timber separators, loaded to a container plan or break-bulk stowage plan, and shipped FOB Shenzhen or Guangzhou.

What buyers ask before ordering

What to send for a 24h quote

  • General arrangement with span, deck width, enclosure and support positions
  • Bearing details and the planned erection method (crane, strand jack, launching)
  • Vibration and deflection criteria from the bridge designer
  • Design code, wind, seismic and snow data for the site
  • Coating or galvanizing specification and fire rating, if any
  • Destination port and the date you need the steel on site
What is the longest bridge span you can supply?

We trial-assemble bridge trusses up to 90 m in the shop. Longer spans are supplied in segments with site splices designed with your engineer.

We detail lifting lugs, jacking points and temporary bracing to the erection engineer’s method, and check lifted geometry in the Tekla model.

Yes. We fabricate curved box girders, sloped walkways and spiral stairs from CNC-cut plate and rolled tube.

Connections and members are checked to AISC 360, EN 1993 or AS 4100. Bridge-specific requirements such as fatigue details follow your designer’s specification.

In segments of up to 11.8 m for 40HQ containers, or up to 24 m and 60 t per piece by break-bulk, with splices fitted during trial assembly.

Our minimum is 50 t. A single small footbridge can be combined with other steel to the same port, or quoted with stairs, canopies and lifting steel.
